Career
Four years of apprenticeship in a real IT environment with Swiss SME clients. That's where I learned to stay patient when a bug doesn't show itself right away, and to look closely instead of just restarting things. Over time I got to take on my own client projects, always with experienced admins backing me up, showing me how to carry responsibility calmly.
Here I helped build the IT infrastructure, from network planning to the firewall to running Proxmox. Not my own project, but exactly the place where I realized how much I enjoy contributing to something that goes beyond my apprenticeship.
Right after my apprenticeship I went straight into the army as a full-time soldier, assigned as a social media soldier: I film and photograph exercises and everyday troop life and prepare it for the official channels, from the shot to the finished story (more under Photography). Along the way I'm also picking up discipline, leadership and teamwork, things that will definitely help me in future IT projects.
